OUR FARM
Our farm originally began in 1858 when Adam and Sophia Huber purchased 40 acres. Another 80 acres was purchased a few years later. The farm was later purchased by their granddaughter who was born and raised on the farm, William and Edith Hoff nee. Huber. It has remained in operation as a small family farm through the years. The current owners, Alvin and Shirley Hoff, continue to raise crops, a small beef cattle herd, and maintain 40 acres of Classified Forest.
In the Summer of 2020, we received a Sesquicentennial Hoosier Homestead Farm Award for our farm being owned by the same family for over 150 years. David and Michelle Hoff are grateful to continue the family farming tradition.
In 2012, the fifth generation to farm the land, David and Michelle Hoff, planted the first Christmas trees. Each spring since 2012, tree seedlings have been planted by hand totaling 8 acres of Christmas trees. Our family spends many hours each year maintaining the trees to provide beautiful trees to celebrate the Christmas season. In 2018, we supplied a beautiful 24 foot Colorado Blue Spruce to the City of Aurora as the town Christmas tree for their Miracle on Main Street celebration.
November 2020 will mark our third season opening as a choose and cut operation for Hoff Christmas Trees. New for 2020, we are preparing for COVID-19 safety precautions. We will also have a selection of pre-cut Fraser Fir trees available in 2020. We are proud members of the Indiana Christmas Tree Growers Association and participants in the Trees for Troops program.
We hope you will make a tree from Hoff Christmas Trees part of “An old family tradition for making new Christmas memories” for your family.
Merry Christmas!
